At Home Renovations Manchester, our team is built on experience, craftsmanship, and a genuine commitment to delivering high‑quality work. Every member brings a specialist skill set and a practical understanding of Manchester’s diverse property styles, from Victorian terraces to modern new builds. Below is an introduction to the people who help bring each project to life.
James Walker – Founder & Project Director
James founded Home Renovations Manchester after more than 15 years working in construction and property development across Greater Manchester. Starting his career as an apprentice joiner, he progressed into site management and later oversaw large‑scale residential refurbishments for regional developers. His hands‑on background means he understands every stage of the renovation process, from structural work to finishing details.
James manages project planning, client communication, and on‑site coordination. He is known for his calm, organised approach and his ability to translate a homeowner’s ideas into a clear, achievable plan. Having lived in Manchester his entire life, he has extensive knowledge of local building regulations, property types, and renovation challenges unique to the area.
Sarah Mitchell – Lead Designer
Sarah is responsible for design, layout planning, and interior specification. She studied Interior Architecture at Manchester School of Art and spent several years working with independent design studios before joining the team. Her work focuses on practical, modern layouts that suit everyday living, with particular expertise in kitchen and bathroom design.
Sarah’s strength lies in balancing aesthetics with functionality. She works closely with clients to understand how they use their space, then develops designs that improve flow, storage, and comfort. Her portfolio includes open‑plan conversions, bespoke kitchen designs, and full‑home interior schemes.
Mark Reynolds – Senior Builder & Structural Specialist
Mark has over 20 years of experience in residential construction, specialising in structural alterations, extensions, and loft conversions. He began his career in a traditional building firm in Stockport before moving into renovation‑focused work across Manchester and Cheshire.
Mark handles all structural aspects of the build, including RSJ installation, wall removal, foundation work, and extension frameworks. He is meticulous about safety and compliance, ensuring every project meets building regulations and long‑term structural standards. His practical knowledge of older Manchester properties makes him particularly skilled at working with Victorian and Edwardian homes.
Emma Clarke – Client Coordinator
Emma manages client communication, scheduling, and project documentation. Before joining Home Renovations Manchester, she worked in property management and customer service roles, giving her a strong understanding of homeowner expectations and the importance of clear communication.
Emma ensures clients are updated throughout the renovation process, from initial enquiry to final handover. She coordinates site visits, manages timelines, and keeps all project information organised. Her approachable manner and attention to detail help keep projects running smoothly.
Daniel Hughes – Electrical & Heating Engineer
Daniel is a fully qualified NICEIC‑registered electrician with additional certification in heating system installation. He spent a decade working with a Manchester electrical contractor before specialising in renovation work, where he enjoys the variety and complexity of upgrading older homes.
Daniel handles rewiring, lighting design, fuse‑board upgrades, underfloor heating, and energy‑efficient heating systems. He is particularly experienced in modernising electrics in older properties while ensuring safety and compliance with current regulations.
Laura Bennett – Joinery & Finishing Specialist
Laura is responsible for bespoke joinery, finishing work, and detailed craftsmanship. She trained as a carpenter in a traditional workshop in Trafford and later worked on high‑end residential projects across the North West.
Her work includes custom storage solutions, media walls, kitchen cabinetry adjustments, door and frame installation, and finishing details that bring a renovation together. Laura’s precision and pride in her work make her a key part of the team, especially on projects requiring bespoke elements.
